36 UNDER 36: A NOTE FROM COFOUNDER LISA BETH NORTH

I’ve shared before about my Jewishness being an essential part of my identity. In particular, community relationships are integral to my life and faith. And that’s why I love partnering with The Well Detroit—the same things are important to us—Judaism, community, and wellbeing.

In May, we partnered to offer a spa night webinar focusing on DIY skincare tips and Judaism. It was an honor and privilege to share my talents with local women in a pandemic-friendly way. Seeing their stress melt away as we talked, laughed, and learned together brought me and them joy.

And that joy and sense of community extends to my family, too. My husband, three daughters, and I regularly participate in The Well’s Five Senses and Tot Shabbat programs. There are so many people responsible for making The Well what it is, including Rabbi Dan Horowitz (founder) and Rabbi Jeff Stombaugh (Executive Director). I deeply appreciate and admire the leadership, staff, and community at The Well!

And so, for these and many other reasons, I’m incredibly honored to be selected by The Well and The Jewish News as a 36 under 36 honoree.

P.S. Check out the DIY face mask and oatmeal scrub recipes we shared during our spa night with The Well!
